The 2023 CX-50 mixes ruggedness with premium materials very well. Designers studied closely the human body and developed seats that promote a proper driving posture.
An open layout with easy-to-access features and storage spaces connects passengers instead of isolating them, allowing each to express themselves while enjoying the vehicle’s equipment and amenities.
The base model gets an 8.8-inch infotainment display, while the higher trims come with a 10.3-inch screen. All trims have HD radio, Apple CarPlay®, Android Autoâ„¢, Bluetooth connectivity, and Mazda Connected Service. The audio speakers were repositioned – onto the side cowls – to produce a better sound.
The rear footwell was slightly slanted to provide rear passengers optimal space to sit relaxed in the rear seats, while the side sills in the door jams were reshaped to ensure comfort when entering or exiting.
Additionally, an in-car Wi-Fi hotspot is available in all models.
The 2023 Mazda CX-50 adopts the latest evolution of Kodo (Soul of Motion) design philosophy. It is a more mature interpretation of the breathtaking design ethos.
It has the flowing beauty of a coupe yet the bold proportions of an SUV. Mazda’s signature wing takes on a sharper and deeper form to achieve a strong, refined front end that suggests forward motion. The rear window has a diagonal angle, giving the vehicle a coupe-like silhouette. Look at the rear and find the narrowed arch shape of the liftgate makes the body look shorter and broader for a powerful stance.
The attractive trunk design allows it to maintain functionality without giving the 2023 CX-50 a box-like appearance.
Meant to look compact on the outside but spacious on the inside, it is the 2023 CX-50.

All 2023 CX-50 variants use a four-cylinder Skyactiv-G 2.5 paired to a quick-shifting SKYACTIV-Drive six-speed automatic transmission. The non-turbo engine provides class-leading 186 horsepower and 186 pound-feet of torque, while the turbocharged version puts out 256 horsepower and 310 pound-feet of torque. It uses a six-speed automatic transmission across all variants.
The compact crossover has the Japanese automaker’s new off-road traction assist feature, which can potentially help the driver when adventuring on uneven terrain. When the diagonal wheels lose traction, off-road traction assist will stop reducing the engine torque and increasing the brake force on the tires without traction.
G-Vectoring Control Plus and i-ACTIV all-wheel drive are standard.
Steering is on-point precise, which allows it to deliver a sporty drive. Comfort is excellent and will surely make passengers want to spend more seat time in the 2023 CX-50.
If you like your vehicle with an SUV-like presence and capable off-road performance, look no further than the 2023 Mazda CX-50.
